🥫POPPED A TOP? Save it 4🍀H! Broken Bow 4H Club is still collecting Pop Tabs, for The Ronald McDonald House. Remember to save your can tabs. We would appreciate it very much. The tabs do not only have to be from pop cans, any can with a pop tab counts. (Some classes may choose to keep a container in their classroom and deliver to 4H when the container is full.) Our record of pop tabs has been 65 lbs. We would love to have more than that this year! Please help the Broken Bow 4Hers. For more information contact Ms. Nancy Reid at Bennett Elementary. Service above Self. 🗝️Key Club members volunteered at the Lukfata Harvest Carnival on Monday night. They had a great time running games such as bean bag toss and bingo. Student Madisyn Morphew said, “We especially love helping children, seeing them smile and enjoying themselves!” Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.

🎮Broken Bow ESports competed in Atoka yesterday for the Super Smash Brothers qualifier against over 200 students from across the Southeastern region. These kids woke up and beat their coach to the school to leave at 6:30 and practiced the whole way there. After politely explaining ESports to some fellow customers at breakfast, we made it to Atoka and got settled. 🎮RESULTS: Omar Lopez placed in 4th of over 200 players with his winning Pikachu. We pick on Omar for his choice in the game, but he went against a legendary player from Poteau and nearly won. The two can be seen exchanging friendly smiles before the match in the photo below. Our ever charismatic Jay found his way in the Atoka streaming booth (the kid could sell water to a fish) and proves that ESports is more than just playing: It includes streaming and broadcasting! All other Broken Bow students (Seth Sanders, Jay Rodriguez, Gunner Pope, Andy Le, and Colt Haltom) all placed in the top 50 of over 200 students. ✏️NOTE TO PARENTS: I also wanted to take a moment to give my thanks to the parents of these students that have supported them and pushed them to excel and also raising them with such manners. More than once, Broken Bow students were noted for picking up trash, giving VERY polite pointers to competitors and when they lost it was with grace each time. These in person events are a pain sometimes when it comes to planning. (Knowing when to drop kids off and pick them up, for example.) But they're forming lifelong friendships and healthy rivalries from kids all over the state and for that, I am very thankful to all the parents that allow their children to compete. ✉️INVITATION TO PARENTS: I also want to invite any parent of the ESports kids that attends the parent teacher conferences tonight to come by and chat with me. I'd love to brag on their growth! We're taking fall break to prepare, but we'll be ready to go after to finish our season strong. Go Savages! -Coach Kiper #ESports

The Broken Bow Spanish Club enjoyed educating themselves at the Latino Mundo: Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Exhibit at the State Fair of Texas. What is Dia de Los Muertos? Day of the Dead This lively Mexican celebration helps families honor their ancestors. Celebrated Nov 1-2, mostly celebrated in Mexico. Day of the Dead combines the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors with All Souls' Day, a holiday that Spanish invaders brought to Mexico starting in the early 1500s.
