Mrs. Sisco’s English II classes are getting to show off their creative side with their own artistic book covers and personal reviews for the novella “The Metamorphosis.” Building upon the foundational skills acquired in English I, the English II course takes students further into the rich world of literature and advanced writing. This course continues to hone essential communication skills, while introducing more complex themes and forms of literary expression.

RJMS FCCLA recently had three students compete in their district STAR events held in Broken Bow: Tyler Woolsey competed in Creed speaking and placed 3rd in her division, Piper Dees competed in New Member Facts and placed 2nd in her division and Kinley Carrell competed in Children’s Literature and placed 1st in her division and will be able to move on and compete in regionals in February. These students worked extremely hard and our RJMS FCCLA members are extremely proud of their accomplishments. Thank you to Broken Bow Assembly of God church for allowing us to use their facilities in order to host this event and to the BB High school FCCLA members who sat with our middle school students and encouraged them before and after they completed. Our Broken Bow Savage family is such a blessing.

RJMS FCCLA has their weekly concessions back up and running. The last two weeks the students with some assistance from their advisors have cooked loaded baked potatoes and Indian tacos along with cookies and root beer floats. The Fccla members are learning life long lessons on cooking, running concession, producing a product for the public on time, financial skills in running the concession weekly and the costs associated with the sales of item. They also are building relationships with their community and classmates. The FCCLA members want to say thank you to all who have purchased meals, cookies and floats and their teachers for working with the students schedules and allowing students to participate in this opportunity. Without our teachers and administrators support none of this would be possible!

THIRD GRADE UPDATE: Ms. Rich’s class finished up their personification pop tarts project and celebrated by inviting parents to a PopTart Party! 🎉 You may remember, in October the class began learning about personification. The kiddos had to come up with a persona for their "pop tart" and then write a descriptive paragraph about it. Personification = the attribution of personal qualities; especially: representation of a thing or abstraction as a person or by the human form. #BrilliantAtBennett
