S.T.E.A.M Presents:
Sew it! Grow it! Show it!
Science - Technology - Engineering - Art - Mathematics
Be sure to stop by the ART BUILDING at the fairgrounds and see our booth!
🌼3rd through 5th grade students at #Bennett Elementary have explored all things "Sew it! Grow it! Show it" for the last two weeks of school during their S.T.E.A.M class. Mrs. Emily Kiper, our S.T.E.A.M teacher's goal was for all students to have a new, deep understanding of how farms, crops, and animals play a crucial role in our every day lives. Many of our multicultural student's found these studies eye-opening and sparked interest in a newly found topic...agriculture.
🐂3rd grade students focused their learning and research on livestock animals and the products that we use everyday that come from them. Students learned about chickens, pigs, cows, sheep, and horses. Furthermore, students discovered the parts of the animal that are used for food for people and animals and were able to recognize food from different livestock such as eggs, cheese, milk, beef, chicken, pork and so much more.
🥕4th Grade students engaged in meaningful activities starting with a farm. They then learned about the process of things that are grown in fields and gardens and how those products make it from the ground, all the way to their dinner table. Student explored in groups how fruit and vegetables and grown, taken care of, harvested, transported, processed, packaged, shipped, purchased, and cooked.
🧵🪡5th grade students took part in a few different activities that allowed them to explore the history of sewing and quilting. Each group of students researched a quilt pattern and typed a report on their findings. Students also were given a burlap square where they drew out a pattern using simple lines, zig-zags, dashes and dotted lines. Students then picked up to three colors of yarn and followed the pattern using blunt, kid-friendly needels. Students were so thrilled with the activity they are requesting to sew more often by having the tools available in the "Finish Early Bin". Students finished up their two week study by learning to master weaving using construction paper strips. #AmazingFairBooth #BrilliantAtBennett

JV football provides valuable game experience for younger players and gives coaches an assessment of the players against actual opponents.
Great job JV!

🚫Scammers often pretend to be from a school or local utility company in order to trick people into giving away money or personal information. Here are 3 tips to avoid being a victim of a school scam:
1. Don't panic: If you receive a call don't feel pressured to act quickly.
2. Don't give out personal information: Avoid giving out your bank or credit card information over the phone, especially if you're asked to do so immediately.
3. Ask questions: If you receive a call, ask the caller detailed questions about the school, their position, and the money owed. If they can't answer well, it's likely a scam.
If you have a questions regarding Broken Bow Public Schools fundraisers or sponsorships don’t hesitate to call our Athletic Director Kraig Sundberg at 580-775-1646 or email ksundberg@bbisdapp.org to verify any solicitations. Be safe out there!
