Among the boys, first place went to Kolby Crudup (6:29), second place was Jo'siya Hardin (6:32), third place went to Austin Marable (6:40), and Isiah Crudup (6:44) captured the fifth place medal. Congratulations to all these athletes on this terrific start to the season. New Head Coach Debbie Scales was pleased with her team's performance and is optimistic about the season ahead. The RJMS Softball Team, competing in the Tishomingo Tournament this weekend, lost their opening round game 4-0 to Kingston on Friday but bounced back Saturday morning with a convincing 12-3 win over host Tishomingo in the second round. Follow this feed for more scores and updates as the tournament continues.

🥎Senior pitching ace Maliyah Carney was stellar in the circle, allowing just three hits and ringing up 13 strikeouts in Savage Softball’s 5-2 victory over Oologah on Friday.
Broken Bow opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the fourth inning with the help of some hard hit balls and a couple of Mustang fielding errors. Haylie Brantley, Mylee Williams, and Raylee Martin scored in the inning. Martin was a courtesy runner for Carney who had reached base on an error.
The Savages played a little “small ball” in the top of the fifth when Jaylen Cauthron bunted her way on base and then used smart base running to advance around the bases, scoring on a Carney single to give her team a four run lead. The Mustangs cut the lead in half with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. That was as close as they would get as the Savages added a security run in the top of the seventh after Jaxie Glasson singled, stole second base, and then scored on a Cauthron single for the 5-2 advantage.
Brooke Evans, Cauthron and Carney each drove in one run. Kennedee Brittain stole two bases and Savage Softball ran wild with six stolen bases overall. After struggling in the field against Stigler earlier in the week the Savages responded with an error free performance against Oologah.
The team plays two games against bigger schools on Saturday in the Broken Arrow Festival. They take on Putnam City North at 9:30 A.M. and then face Westmoore immediately afterwards. Both games will be held at the softball complex in Bixby.
