This week’s BBHS “student chosen” teacher is Mrs. Anderson! #YouAreAppreciated

We have made it to Indy!! We have watched some LDE contests, attended the opening session and the Milk Quality team is getting ready for tomorrow to compete in the National Contest at 8:00 a.m. in the morning.

Shelia Kates has been in the education field for 13 years. After being a full time classroom teacher, she answered the great call to pursue a career as an elementary school counselor. The role of a school counselor has changed dramatically over the last decade. Elementary school counselors no longer work in isolation. They’re a collaborative part of the educational team. Mrs. Kates not only helps assist with student academic success, but also fosters student growth through social-emotional development. In a recent interview, Mrs. Kates shared that helping develop the whole child is what makes her most wild about being a school counselor. Mrs. Kates is making a huge impact at Bennett! Her favorite, go-to snack on a busy day consist of a Slim Jim, Muncho chips and a Diet Coke!

💡The BBHS Savage Quizbowl team closed out regular season play in a big way!
We came out 1st in conference play, 3rd in the county tournament, and Courtney Wood placed 4th among the top 10 individual scorers in the county!
The team has worked hard for these accomplishments, I could not be more proud.
The team will be going to Regionals at Poteau on the 11th. —Coach Clowers
Way to go, Savages!!!

🎃🍎Broken Bow teachers get together every year and provide a Halloween event for our special needs kidos.
We know these kids more than likely will not get to go out for Halloween treats so we feel the need to give an in house halloween treat for them with a bit of decorating for a haunted house feel and treats waiting at the end. These kids deserve a special outing and we try our best to give them an experience to remember.

Headed by Wanda Wood and student Council we present a glimpse of the 4th Annual Trick or Treat day for our wonderful kids!

It’s a great day to be a Savage!

A common frustration I hear among other ESports coaches is a lack of "buy-in" or support from their community when it comes to their program.
I'm blessed to say this is not the case for Broken Bow. We have the absolute best community, parents, and administrators that showed up to help renovate our room.
I'm proud to say that thanks to those efforts, our kids are learning skills such as teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
We have kids that never cared about school finally caring because they can represent their school and feel like they belong.
This program is a blessing to these kids, our community, our school, and myself.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the community for supporting us. We hope to do you proud!
