🌕UPDATE: Due to the threat of inclement weather the Veterans Program will take place in the "auditorium" THURSDAY night at 7:00PM. Please come celebrate with the students of Broken Bow Public Schools as we honor the service of our Veterans. The BBHS Annual Veterans Day Program will be held on... ✍🏻Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 PM at the Jenkins Auditorium.
At RJMS FCCLA we have been studying Communication and Conflict Resolution.
Students ended the unit with a fun communication activity. Students had to sit with their back to each other. Both were given the same set of blocks. The communicating student had to explain to the listening student how to build the exact same structure they were building. The listener could not ask any questions. From this activity, we learned that we don't do a very good job of explaining what we are saying to others. A typical person can speak 125 words-per-minute, yet we can process up to three times faster, reaching as much as 500 words-per-minute. We also realized how important body language is while communicating.
The moral of the story: Don't just expect others to know what you are talking about.
What a day for BBHS FCCLA! #FirstPlace
We started the morning off with a trip to KJ’Z Coffee Shop for some delicious drinks and tasty treats. Afterwards we hit the road and traveled to Atoka for District STAR Events.
We had two teams and two individuals compete today. Both of our teams placed ✨ FIRST✨ in their events and our two individuals had some wonderful learning experiences and are excited for future opportunities!
We are so proud of these kiddos and all of their hard work! It is such a privilege to see our students take on leadership roles and reap the benefits of their efforts.
#Regionals here we come! 🥇
Please come celebrate with the students of Broken Bow Public Schools as we honor the service of our Veterans.
The BBHS Annual Veteran's Day Program will be held on...

Mr. McGee’s November “Class Brag”🙌🏼
Mr. Cox’s Biology class had an assignment where students designed posters about global issues affecting our environment. Students were able to pick their own topics which ranged from forest fires to pollution and everything in between. Mr. Cox had teachers vote on the best poster.
Awesome job Mr. Cox and our biology students!
Last Thursday, BBHS students participated in our second “Fun Day” of the semester. Students had to have passing grades and no more than 6 absences for the semester. Students participated in volleyball, basketball, board games, corn hole, bingo, puzzles, video games, and much more! Over 480 students qualified! Students that did not qualify had an opportunity to work on missing work for the afternoon so that they can participate next month. By rewarding our students for making good grades and coming to school, the number of students on the failing list has been reduced by half and our attendance is much improved! Great things are happening at BBHS!

Key Club officers spent the afternoon searching for locations that were participating in “adopt in angel”. They picked up cards from The Burrow Boutique in Idabel and also enjoyed a nice lunch.
😇Adopt an Angel program helps provide Christmas gifts for underprivileged children. Once a child has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in the community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys.
Pre-k learning is fun at Dierks Elementary.
Studies show that students who attend pre-K are three times more likely to be proficient readers by third grade, which is essential in determining long-term success in school.
Bonus~Pre-K students have increased vocabulary, literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving! Pretty cool.
