**📢 Important Announcement to Our School Community 📢**
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
This message is to inform you that an anonymous threat was received through the Protect OK tip line specifically concerning our high school today. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. As a precaution, we have initiated our emergency protocols and have evacuated the high school and middle school campuses.
Our students are safe and we are working closely with law enforcement officials regarding this threat. Our Administration has requested a warrant to investigate the source of these anonymous threats and will pursue this investigation diligently.
Dierks Elementary and Bennett Elementary Schools are currently on lockdown, and students are safe in their classrooms. Please do not come to the school until further notice.
We understand the concern this causes and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. We will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your support and understanding.
RJMS Parents:
We've recently partnered with the Choctaw Nation on a grant they've received. This grant will allow them to implement an evidenced-based educational curriculum (Positive Potential) to grades 6, 7 and 8. They will be sending 3 Choctaw Nation SMART Program educators to RJMS to present this program to our students through their regularly scheduled Science classes. These 3 Choctaw Nation educators have been trained on the curriculum and how to present it to our age groups. RJMS Science teachers will also be in the classroom each day. We are sending home information regarding the SMART Program by way of our students today. If you have any questions, please contact the 2 person's listed on the letters. Phone numbers have been provided in the letter. Please do not contact the RJMS office regarding this information as we won't be able to answer direct questions about the program.
The back page of the letter only needs to be returned should you choose NOT to allow your child to participate in the program. We hope however that you will strongly consider that they do. We do feel that they will greatly benefit from the 5 lessons covered in this program. As you will see in the SMART Program Letter that your student brings home, the curriculum varies according to the grade level of the student. Thank you for your support. We greatly appreciate you.
Sincerely,
Belinda Highful, RJMS Principal of Instruction
